Biography
Anthony Martinez is a well-known San Francisco Bay Area actor/singer/musician whose work has been seen at countless Bay Area theaters, including 42nd St. Moon, Cinnabar Theater, 6th St Playhouse, Spreckels Theater Company, Left Edge Theater, Lucky Penny Productions, Larkspur Café Theater, Pacific Alliance Stage Company, the Castro Valley Center for the Arts, Sonoma County Repertory Theater, Novato Theater Company, and Sonoma Arts Live, to name just a few.
Critically acclaimed stage appearances include Bruce in Fun Home, Bull in Drumming with Anubis (World Premiere), Tim in This Random World, Georges in La Cage Aux Folles, Eddie in Sister Act the Musical, Edward Rutledge in 1776 (Theater Bay Area award nomination), Slash Murphy in Zombietown (Theater Bay Area award nomination), Dan Goodman in Next to Normal (Theater Bay Area award nomination, Bay Area Theater Critics Circle award nomination, SOTA award nomination, Broadwayworld.com nomination), Cinderella’s Prince/The Wolf in Into the Woods (Bay Area Theater Critics Circle nomination), and Lancelot in Camelot (ARTY award nomination). In addition to his work in theater and films, Anthony is also a founding member and keyboardist, guitarist, composer, and vocalist for the internationally-known rock band ALLIED NATION. A proud member of ASCAP, Anthony has composed many of ALLIED NATION’s best-known songs. In 2009, “Touch and Go”, a compilation of ALLIED NATION’s , classic recordings was released on the aor-fm record label in Europe to world-wide acclaim. Anthony is also an accomplished martial artist and instructor (kenpo karate) and also teaches and directs musical theater at Young Actors Studio in Santa Rosa, CA.
